Magdalena Velevska has done it again! Her colour palettes are amazing and her tailoring unsurpassed! That blue is STUNNING! She really creates a fantastic look from head to toe. The hair also compliments the look! We love the relaxed braided bun!
THE INSPIRATION:
Braiding is set to be another hair trend seen on the runway at RAFW with Todd Arndt, Redken Hair Director creating a stunning braided up style for the Magdalena Velevska show. “This look has a very understated 50’s inspired sexiness to it. Even though it’s an up style, the look is still quite relaxed because the plait isn’t secured too tightly and the soft quiff gently falls over the forehead. This gives it a beautiful graceful and modern feel without looking too overdone,” says Todd.
HOW TO:
1. Coat dry hair with Redken Touch Control 05 for texture, grip and flexible hold.
2. Make a U-section with the top front section of hair. Create a pony tail at the top
centre of the head and secure with a hair tie.
3. Plait the pony tail straight and secure at the end with a hair tie. Then tease the plait
with fingers to create a ruffled texture and to slightly loosen -making it appear
less like a regular plait.
4. Fold and twist the plait back and secure into a quiff shape with bobby pins.
5. Finish with Redken Workforce 09 to hold the up style in place and to smooth
fly aways at the back.
THE PRODUCTS:
1. Redken Touch Control 05 volumizing texture whip $28.95 RRP
2. Redken Workforce 09 flexible volumizing spray $25.95 RRP

Rosemount Fashion Week
What a way to start Rosemount Australian Fashion Week! Ten amazing looks were created for the MAC Gala Dinner…and as mentioned in the previous post the models wore pieces made of paper this even included hair pieces. Redken Hair Directors Todd Arndt (from Vogue Nationale ) and Richard Kavanagh worked together to style hair to compliment both the makeup and paper couture creations. A synergy of art, fashion, hair and makeup upon viewing these pictures I truly believe the showcase was definitely one of the highlights of RAFW.

My favourite hair style would be the exaggerated bun/birdsnest with ‘YES’ the cutest paper bird hair pieces!!!! There is a perfect balance of sleekness and loose styling! And the MAKEUP……
Well you would certainly expect nothing but the most amazing make up artistry from MAC team and they certainly delivered! Take a look at this beautiful shot taken backstage- Stunning!

Having just returned back from Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (accompanied my husband Todd Arndt Redken Hair Director Vogue Nationale) I am so eager to share all the amazing backstage and runway pictures from the week!!!!! To kick things off let me present backstage photos from the M.A.C Party.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of Australian Fashion week and what a way to start the week with an amazing M.A.C cosmetics launch party with ‘paper doll’ models. A celebration of fashion and art!!! How amazing are the pieces worn by the models! I had to look twice as I was so amazed that the headpiece and dresses were made of paper! These pieces were engineered by Australian Artist Benja Harney. The attention to detail is exquisite, the designs have a high couture feel. Each cut out/ collages shape is so delicately placed and divinely arranged. My favourite piece is the first photo pictured above, a creation Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto would surely also adore. Simply stunning! To read more about this amazing artist check out this interview I recently came across on Inside Out blog.
