Hello, Louise here from The Little Humbugs! I am just delighted to write a guest post for Style MILK.
Over the past few months I have been lucky to meet some wonderfully talented Australian artists and designers, and I thought this the perfect forum to introduce a few of their products - can you tell what my common theme is? Polkadots of course!
Quickly, just a little bit about me, I am the artist behind “The Little Humbugs”, I am a mother of three living in lovely Melbourne (having recently moved from Perth). I love drawing simple, classic images of children at play and I am a firm believer that children should enjoy their childhood and not try to grow up too quickly. Through my art I try to embrace the simple things in life.
I have so many forms of inspiration, mostly from watching my own children at play, through to the classic children’s illustrators of yesteryear (Eloise Wilkin, JH Dowd, EH Sheppard and many others). I have a rather large collection of beautiful old illustrated books, that sit high on a shelf away from sticky little fingers!!! On weekends, you will often find me sitting totally immersed in the children’s section of various bookstores!
I have also included a couple of my own illustrations, two of my favourites!
