In the recent winter fashion column in which I was asked to contribute for the June Peekaboo Magazine, I featured amazing capes and coats from Olive’s Friend Pop. I can not express how much I love this label! When I showed the Autumn Winter Lookbook to my husband he said to me wow ‘that is so your style…..just like Lover the label only childrenswear’. Now for those who may not know yet my absolute favourite (Women’s) designer is LOVER The Label. I actually own an amazing cape from Lover which I think he was making reference to.

What I adore about Olive’s Friend Pop is that the pieces are vintage inspired and have a timeless classic feel. Classic being that they won’t date they will always look stylish! With my favourite designer ‘Lover The Label’ I used to actually ‘collect’ pieces from every collection almost as art. The clothing from Olive’s Friend Pop is so beautiful and just like ‘Lover the Label’ pieces so lovely you would want to keep as heirlooms.

Julia and Lea the designers behind Olive’s friend Pop describe their designs as ‘nostalgic playwear’ ‘…inspired by proper little-girls’ clothes of our grandmothers’ generation, Post WWII, and from a time when little girls looked like little girls’. Standout pieces from the Autumn Winter 2010 collection would have to be the Agnes Pinafore dress, The Ella capelet and Ida Pixie hat (as pictured above) and the Mae wool dress is absolutely divine!  Infact to be honest the whole collection is a stellar….and every piece is a standout piece! This is one label to watch!!!!!

Olive’s Friend Pop is available now in the Style Milk Shop!

Style MILK is in Print!!!!! Check out the June issue of Peekaboo Magazine! Thanks to the lovely Bianca (the creator behind Peekaboo) I have now achieved one of my dreams: to style fashion for a magazine! I was asked to help style the winter  photoshoot as well as contribute a double page to the magazine! Bianca trusted me and gave me creative control to choose whatever I wanted to feature and write about. It really was fantastic being able to choose pretty pictures and products to feature (however I must admit that I was so nervous writing the column but at the same time bursting with excitement!).

For the Fashion column I featured Oeuf, Rittenhouse, Olives Friend Pop and Let Them Eat Cake all based around a ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ story telling inspired theme!  I also helped style the winter ‘Circus Party shoot’.  I will post pictures very soon as well as the inspiration behind styling ideas (as soon as I get my hand on a copy of the magazine)

If you have seen the magazine I would love to know what you thought about Style MILK’s contribution or even what you loved about the issue!!!! Please leave comments below!
